As far as the release date goes, I have learned from my sources that this most likely will change. We won't know anything till MGM sorts out their mess.

My two cents:

Movies are art. Good or bad, they are art. Art is meant to provoke thought and emotion. This movie is doing just that.

No matter how racist some people think it is, or how anti-Chinese people think it is, it is just a MOVIE. Don't go see it if you feel that strongly about it. I'm from Middle Eastern descent and if there is a group of people that Hollywood misrepresents it's them. It doesn’t bother me one bit though. They are just movies. Fiction. I'm not saying it's wrong to be upset about a movie or other piece of art because you find it offensive, it just doesn't affect me that way.

I encourage everyone to use our forums to discuss both the positive and negative of this film. Just keep it civilized.

Also I want to say hi to www.anti-reddawn2010.com. If you haven't been to this site yet go check it out. (You'll need to use Google Translator though.) I love that they are speaking their mind, I just don't agree with them trying to stop or alter the release of the film. This is a free country and we enjoy freedom of speech here.

I look forward to the film and hope it is as good as the original.

I came across the portfolio of Patrick Jänicke today. On his site he has two small concept art pieces for Red Dawn. One is a drawing of the stage from the downtown shoot and the other is a 3D fly-through of a concentration camp. The camp looks like it is set up in the high school football field. Not sure if this was ever built. We haven't seen any photos from this set.

Patrick has also done work on films like, Final Fantasy, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Speed Racer to name a few. You can check out the rest of his portfolio here.
